%X This article proposes to question the “sustainable” and “self development” character of ecotourism, analyzing the Achuar case of Kapawi Ecolodge & Reserve. The author shows how the agents of tourism (both local and external) have played a major role in the development of this activity, involving a profound recomposition and reconfiguration of economic, political and identity Achuar structures.
%X Este artículo propone cuestionar el carácter «sostenible» y «autónomo» de la actividad ecoturística en comunidades indígenas, analizando el caso achuar del Kapawi Ecolodge & Reserve. El autor muestra de qué manera los agentes del turismo (locales como exteriores) han jugado un papel primordial en el desarrollo de esta actividad, implicando profundas recomposiciones y reconfiguraciones de las estructuras económicas, políticas e identitarias entre los achuar.
%X Cet article se propose de se poser des questions sur le caractère « durable » et « autonome » de l’activité écotouristique, en analysant le cas Achuar du Kapawi Ecolodge & Reserve. L’auteur montre de quelle manière, les agents du tourisme (locaux autant qu’extérieurs) ont joué un rôle primordial dans le développement de cette activité, impliquant de profondes recompositions et reconfigurations des structures économiques, politiques et identitaires chez les Achuar.
