This article provides a reflexive analysis of a collaborative research project, the REV project, which studied everyday forms of resistance to gentrification in four countries (France, Belgium, Austria and Portugal) and which was carried out over two years by eleven researchers. The article describes three aspects. First, it outlines the organization of the research team comprised of scholars from different disciplines, generations, professional ranks and academic structures. Second, it examines the development of the team's common methodological framework, which allowed the researchers to study four neighborhoods in four capital cities, each exhibiting different forms of resistance to gentrification. Finally, it discusses the synthesis of the study's findings, which was a necessarily long and challenging process, but made particularly fruitful thanks to the inclusion of photography as a research tool.

Cet article revient de manière réflexive sur une expérience de recherche collective – le programme REV – qui a mobilisé pendant deux ans onze chercheurs dans quatre pays (France, Belgique, Autriche et Portugal) autour d’un thème de recherche : les résistances ordinaires à la gentrification. Sont ainsi décrites l’organisation d’un collectif de chercheurs issus de disciplines, de générations, de statuts et de fonctionnements universitaires différents ; l’élaboration d’un cadre méthodologique commun permettant d’étudier quatre quartiers de quatre villes capitales résistant différemment à la gentrification ; et enfin la synthèse des résultats, nécessairement longue et difficile, mais particulièrement féconde grâce à l’apport de la photographie.
