Abstract

Thoinot Arbeau's Orchesography (1589) is a useful instrument to revisit the much-noted dance/love/marriage cluster in Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing. Contemporary treatises on dancing give new insights into the play's organization and gender discourse.
