This research focuses on the subjective experience of parental bereavement in the context of war, through the testimonies of Armenian mothers who lost a child during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in 2020. In a traumatic context, parental bereavement does not follow a classic evolutionary process, but tends to freeze into chronic suffering, preventing the possibility of psychic elaboration and projection into the future. The bereavement studied here takes place in a context marked by a historical and collective legacy of trauma, reinforcing the psychic resonance of the loss. It takes on a collective and political dimension, without alleviating the suffering of bereaved mothers.

Cette recherche s’intéresse à l’expérience subjective du deuil parental en contexte de guerre, à travers les témoignages de mères arméniennes ayant perdu un enfant durant le conflit du Haut-Karabagh en 2020. Dans un contexte traumatique, le deuil parental ne suit pas un processus évolutif classique, mais tend à se figer dans une souffrance chronique, empêchant la possibilité d’une élaboration psychique et d’une projection vers l’avenir. Le deuil étudié ici s’inscrit dans un contexte marqué par un héritage historique et collectif de traumatismes, renforçant la résonance psychique de la perte. Il prend une dimension collective et politique, sans pour autant alléger la souffrance des mères endeuillées.
