Asyndète et construction du fictif dans certaines variétés d'anglais

Abstract : This article deals ith utterances without a connector, i.e. ithout a clear and distinct marker of connexion, where, nevertheless, hypotactic connexions are constructed and can be reconctrustred thanks to contextual parameters.
this study deals with the construction/reconstruction of conditional meaning, including irrealis without the connector IF, which is he only conjonction of subordination in English avalilable to construct a conditional meaning, without mentioning IN CASE and UNLESS.
In "standard" English, IF introduces protases, except in cases where we have an inversion of the sublect and the auxiliary.
Protases can be protean (Merle, 2001). Besides, paratactic utterances, where the two clauses are linked by AND for instance, are common.
And yet, uin the kind of fictional work in which the novelist tries to reproduce oral varieties of British and American English, it is not unusual to find utterances without IF not AND. Our purpose is to try to analyse the ay different contextual parameters and/or markers interact in the process of the reconstruction of conditional meaning by the co-enunciator, especially irrealis.
