Edmond Barrachin
Résumé
Edmond Barrachin served in Parliament from 1934 to 1975 (the year he died), with only two interruptions, from June 1936 to June 1946, and from the fall of 1958 to the beginning of 1959 when he joined the Senate. Apart from this longevity, throughout his career, he sought to create an actually well structured political organization gathering the broad area of opinion from the Republican Right to the Center, and also worked for the State Reform. Finally, he is both an atypical Member of Parliament of the time because of its social origins, and the archetype of a professional politician.

En dehors de cette longévité, tout au long de sa carrière, il a cherché à doter le vaste secteur d'opinion allant de la droite républicaine au centre d'une organisation politique réellement structurée et a œuvré en faveur de la réforme de l'État. Enfin, il constitue à la fois une figure atypique du personnel parlementaire de l'époque par ses origines et l'archétype d'un professionnel de la politique.
