Due to the singularity of its site, the river capital of Cambodia saw developing of territorial practices linked to the water of a big diversity. Territorialities which find their roots in an agrarian way of life, characteristics of societies bordering the big rivers of Asia of Monsoons, coexist with more recent urban practices in Phnom Penh. While they participated in the slow territorial reconstruction implemented since the beginning of 1980s, following genocide, these agrarian practices are put in evil to the advantage of more correspondent urban practices just like modernity today than intends to show the capital of a country in full resurgence, to the investors and to the tourists.
