Résumé
In Bwamu language, bwεni is a polysemous term. It signifies «to hit and produce a sound», but also refers to the sticks griots use to play on their instruments. Its various meanings reveal what «being a griot» among the Bwaba implies: relations between social groups, codes of conduct, a special relationship to genies and ancestors. Halfway between a field report and the scientific article, this text presents some aspects of the doctoral research I was able to carry out thanks to the Ariane Deluz prize.
En langue bwamu, bwεni est un terme polysémique. Il signifie « frapper en émettant un son », mais désigne également les baguettes utilisées pour jouer sur les instruments des griots. À travers ses différentes significations, on accède à ce « qu' être griots » implique chez les Bwaba : rapports entre groupes sociaux, codes de conduite, relations aux génies et aux ancêtres. À mi-chemin entre le rapport de terrain et l'article scientifique, ce texte présente une partie de mes travaux de thèse réalisés notamment grâce au financement du prix Ariane Deluz.
