Résumé

The present study seeks to explore the conjunct development of complexity, accuracy and fluency in the oral production of 8 French L1 young learners of EFL enrolled in a secondary school. Recent studies (Bret, 2014, Ferrari, 2012, Vercellotti, 2017) foregrounded temporary trade-off effects between these three dimensions of language competence in the early stages of L2 learning, suggesting that they could not develop conjunctly. This analysis, conducted over a two-year span (6 data collections), highlights a moderate positive correlation of the three factors without any significant trade-off effects, hinting at a dynamic positive interaction.
