RHYTHMIC DISTORTION AND SENSORY ANAMORPHOSIS: LUCES DE BOHEMIA’S LITERARITY THROUGH THE PRISM OF ‘PNEUMATICS’

Alain Riffaud’s works suggest a new critical reading of dramatic prose: offering a distinct interpretation of Luces de bohemia’s prose dynamics through the prism of ‘pneumatics’ (Riffaud, 2007), the present article brings to light the existence, throughout the play, of a specific
rhythm in Esperpento dramatic prose, which relates to the notion of sensory anamorphosis (visual and auditory), a polymorphous component that underlies the writing. Applying the notions of ‘pneumatics’ and ‘trompe-l’oreille’ (Féron, 2010) to the study of Ramón del Valle-Inclán’s dramatic prose allows to examine the characters’ language energy by articulating the notions of breath and breathing with that of sensory mirage.
Resumen:
A partir de los estudios de Alain Riffaud (2007) que invitan a una nueva lectura crítica de la prosa teatral, se propone una nueva interpretación del fluir prosístico de Luces de bohemia
desde el prisma de la «pneumática». El artículo pone de realce la existencia de un ritmo
específico del esperpento, el cual se articula con la noción de anamorfosis sensorial (visual y auditiva), recurso polimorfo que vertebra dicha prosa. La confrontación de las nociones de «pneumática» y de «trampantoído» (Féron, 2010) con el estudio de la prosa teatral de Ramón del Valle-Inclán brinda la oportunidad de pensar la energía de la palabra de
los personajes articulándola con las nociones de soplo y de respiración, así como con la de espejismo sensorial.
